Kris Mizutani, MSN, RN, PHN, CARN
Kris Mizutani is a compassionate and culturally competent Registered Nurse with over 15 years of diverse clinical experience in emergency, urgent care, shelter health, and addiction care. Currently serving at San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center, Kris provides high-acuity patient care in the Emergency Department and serves as a consultant with the Addiction Care Team, promoting evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to substance use treatment.

Kris’s nursing practice is grounded in equity, public health, and interdisciplinary collaboration. They have worked extensively with low-income and marginally housed individuals, people with substance use disorders, and non-English-speaking patients. Kris previously provided frontline care in San Francisco’s emergency COVID isolation and quarantine shelters and has a background in medical-surgical nursing, urgent care, and clinical research.

Kris holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco, and additional degrees in social and cultural anthropology and integral studies. They are a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN), a Public Health Nurse (PHN), and maintain advanced certifications in trauma, cardiac, and pediatric emergency care.
